Advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS)

Advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) course is a training program for healthcare professionals who deal with cardiac and respiratory emergencies. It teaches the following skills and topics:
• Basic life support (BLS) skills, such as chest compressions, rescue breaths, and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
• Recognition and management of cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, and other life-threatening conditions
• Airway management and related pharmacology
• Management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke
• Effective communication and teamwork in resuscitation
• Use of various algorithms and protocols for different scenarios
